Dark Lines

My Mother has dark lines beneath her eyes. Sunken hollows that tell of a life dedicated to devotion and sacrifice for the betterment of those under her care. My Mother has dark lines under her eyes, etched against the outline of her sockets by years of persevering through hardship and loss. For the sake of us all.
